"For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord."

A wage is a payment that you earn. An example might be getting paid for working a job. We are all sinners according to Romans 3:23 and what we earn because of sin is death. This death is both a physical death and a spiritual death (spending eternity in the Lake of Fire).

However, there is a gift. This gift is given freely by God. The gift is eternal life, or in other words, spending eternity with God in Heaven. Just as a gift can only be received if you accept it, eternal life can only be received by accepting what Jesus Christ did for us. The Bible says in I Corinthians 15:3,4, that Jesus died for our sins, was buried for three days, and rose again. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Your works can not save you, church can not save you, baptism can not save you. Only Jesus can save!

Today, will you accept or reject this free gift of eternal life? Are you willing to turn from your sin and turn to God? If you choose to accept this gift, pray a simple prayer asking for forgiveness of your sins and asking Jesus to save you.
